Meet Tarnara Francis, site coordinator at Stuart-Hobson Middle School!
Tarnara was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She is in her third year working with After-School All-Stars and her second year as a site coordinator.
As a site coordinator, she plans events, activities, and enrichment at Stuart-Hobson Middle School and ensures that everything is running smoothly.
She says, “For as long as I could remember, I’ve known I wanted to work with kids that grew up in neighborhoods like me, but I just didn’t know exactly which route to take. Once I started working for All-Stars, I knew it would be for me. This can be very challenging work, but if you love what you do, it’s also extremely fulfilling.”
From attending her ASAS program at Stuart-Hobson, Tarnara hopes her students will gain the value of trying new things. She wants students to experience as many things as possible. Tarnara says, “Trying new things helps students gain confidence and allows them to expand their minds and grow.”
